My goal is for them to hear his name, see his work, and someday - recall it and maybe impress some adults :)
We have been focusing on drawing and as I once heard an older folk artist say, "The learnin is in the doin". In other words, they best way to learn about art is to do it. Personally I learn something in every piece that I create.
The Warhol theme is a good lesson on repeating or studying a single object and recreating it multiple times and in multiple ways. Some used a person, pet, or some canned vegetables from my cupboard. One of my kindergartners jumped in his mom's car and told her "Today we did cans of Warhol"....I think he got it!!
If anyone would like to begin lessons at Studio 110....We do have some spots available
