To say we had fun would be an understatement!! Click on the image to better see the results
Our first summer camp was a creative success. We learned to see found objects in a new way - while learning new terms like - mosaics, paper mache, sculpture, collage - don't forget - primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
I was most impressed with the campers enthusiasm and artistic energy. They were brave and open and complimentary to those around them. I am not sure how it ended up being all girls but I also love to watch them during there social moments over snack - reminiscent of little old ladies having tea.
I have two more camps this month and yes I already have some boys signed up so I am expecting a mixed group . Please sign up today - I would like to keep each camp at 8-10 campers. My goal is always to educate and inspire through art.
In light of today's budget cuts, education will be challenged and the arts are usually an easy target for reductions. Exposure to a positive arts experience is not merely a creative outlet but research shows early arts education can help develop:
- Imagination
- Cognitive skills
- Creative abilities
- Problem solving
- Fine motor skills
- Language
- Social skills
- Sense of time & place
- Focusing
- Listening
- Risk taking
- Tolerance
- Uniqueness
- and on and on....
I would love to have your child in art camp or weekly art classes!
