| “Keep your love of nature, for that is the true way to understand art more and more.” Vincent van Gogh In honor of Earth Day and the completely perfect weather, Studio 110 took our classroom outside. So we packed our art wagon and set off for our own local Givervny. Students walked around and looked for what inspired them. We discussed drawing what you see - sounds simple right? But it involves forgetting what you think something looks like and truly seeing - looking at shapes, lines, color, shadows. Its also very inspiring to be in a beautiful location - big thanks to the McLams for letting us set up camp and absorb their lush backyard. Drawing directly from nature is a wonderful experience - please encourage your kids to pack their own art wagon and get outside today! |
